Disciplinary Measures
A Yellow Card will be issued by the Discipline Committee for a period of 3 days. This is to be signed by the Class Teacher, Rep. and the Parent. This is also to be signed by the concerned subject teacher. At the end of 3 days, the card has to be signed by the Principal and returned to the Rep. Three yellow cards will mean suspension from school for a minimum of three days. The yellow card will be issued on the following grounds:
- Missing classes (bunking), Assembly, MDS, Yoga, Library, PE etc.
- Inappropriate behaviour in and outside school premises.
- Cheating during any test or examination.
- Damaging school property.
- Bringing objectionable items to school.
- Any other act of indiscipline as deemed by the Discipline Committee.
Note:
- Any student against whom disciplinary action has been taken will not be eligible for scholarships, awards or School trips.
- Any incidence beyond the rules of school will directly call for suspension and the school reserves the right to take such action without any advance notice.
Consequences of Violations
- WARNINGS: Minor infractions may result in a warning from a teacher or Disciplinary Committee.
- DETENTION: Students may be assigned detention for failing to adhere to school rules.
- SUSPENSION: More serious offenses can lead to suspension from school.
- EXPULSION: In cases of grave misconduct or repeated violations of school rules, students may be expelled from the school.

Bullying lowers self-esteem interferes with everyone’s right to be respected, to learn and to be/feel safe. Hence SARASWATI ACADEMY has zero tolerance to bullying, physical or mental, in cyber space or otherwise, and obscenity or sexual offences by anyone in school.
The term Bullying implies any of the following:
- Physical and verbal attacks, including repetitive teasing, harsh comments and slander.
- Violence and physical aggression leading to hurt or intimidation especially against junior students, by forcibly taking their belongings, food etc.
- All direct or indirect remarks of obscene or sexual nature against the other gender.
- All acts of discrimination leading to lowered self-esteem.
- The destruction of someone’s material possessions.
- Cyber bullying and online humiliation by identity theft, cyber stalking and harassment etc. offensive to another as per Information Technology Act, 2000.
- Inappropriate phone calls, e-mails, messages, use of photographs and other media sources involving the victim.

A happy school can do wonders for the holistic development of our children. A learning abode like a school must be devoid of any kind of negativity so that we can contribute and make the world a better place for our children. Anger is detrimental to fitness. Therefore, as per the guidelines of the Central Board of Secondary Education, DPSI urges all its stake holders to make efforts to convert the school into Anger – Free Zone.
In this Anger-Free Zone, everyone will try to manage his/her anger, whether it is the Parents, School personnel or other stakeholders.
Always follow 3 R’s of Anger Management – Recognise, Reflect and Respond
Students are required to seek written permission for leave from the Class Teacher prior to the commencement of the leave. Leave will not be granted for more than 3 days at a stretch. Leave may be granted to students only on the following grounds:
- In case of serious illness or demise of near relative or marriage in immediate family.
- Representation in sports or other prestigious events.
- Any other occasion deemed fit by the school authorities.
- Absence from the school without leave will not be accepted, except when the cause is sudden illness or unforeseen circumstances, in which case, information must be given to the class teacher at the earliest.
- In case leave is taken on medical grounds, a medical fitness certificate has to be produced on the first day of re-joining school.
- A student returning to school after suffering from an infectious or contagious disease, should produce a doctor’s certificate permitting him to do so.
- No student will be allowed to leave the school premises during school hours. In case of an emergency, permission for leave must be sought for, from the class teacher. In case the student is availing the school transport facility, the class teacher and bus-in-charge must also be informed.
- It is compulsory for students to complete 75% of the attendance in the academic session to make them eligible to appear for the final examination.
- The ‘Record of Absence’ given in the school Almanac has to be filled and signed by the parent.

- Usage of unfair means during examinations will lead the student towards strict disciplinary action.
- It is mandatory for each student to give all Pen-and-Paper and Non Pen-and-Paper Tests/ Exams/ Assessment conducted by the school.
- In case of sickness, the student is required to submit a Medical Certificate from a registered medical practitioner, failing which grades will not be awarded.
- If the child is representing the school for any event/ competition, he/she would be allowed to give a retest only with the prior permission of the Principal.
- There is NO RETEST policy in the school as it is mandatory for all students to appear in all tests, examinations etc. The Principal reserves the right to take decision in any retest request. However, if the student fails to report on the day of retest, NO RE-RETEST would be further conducted.
- Leave for religious ceremonies or special occasions must be obtained beforehand.
